Senior Bookkeeper / Office Manager
Calgary (De Winton), Alberta

Primary Responsibilities
• Full cycle bookkeeping using Simply Accounting for 3 separate company divisions.
• Responsible for CRA reporting for 2 companies: Quarterly GST, T4s, T5018s, December PIER Review, and working with the Accountant for T2 filing.
• Supervise junior accounting staff & admin assistant, showing a commitment to their professional growth and training to perform higher complexity tasks in their respective roles.
• WCB account maintenance, annual returns, monitoring clearance lists & ensuring compliance of new subcontractors.
• Semi-monthly payroll for over 20 employees, source deduction filing, wage & expense recovery reports, monitoring banked hours, loans & deductions.
• Monthly reconciliations for 10 accounts (2 bank, 8 credit cards), including regular monitoring of cash flow and credit card balances.
• Oversee Accounts Receivable and monitor overdue accounts.
• Filing of builder liens, project billings & trade packages.
• Some Accounts Payable functions (credit card receipts, online bill payments, quarterly interest calculations, benefits claim processing).
• Manage renewals: Insurance CGL liabilities, truck fleet registration & business licenses.
• Working closely with management to promote smooth functioning of the office.

Position Requirements
• Exceptional knowledge of Simply Accounting and its various applications.
• Familiarity with ROE Web for online payroll filing.
• Ability to register for CRA “Represent a Client” account.

Additional Assets
• Experience with Project Billings, Progress Payments, Trade Contract Packages, Completing Statutory Declarations Progress Billings & Substantial Completion Certificates.
• Commissioner of Oaths.
• Job Costing experience and a willingness to undertake new initiatives to optimize this area of the business.
• Managerial & Supervisory experience.
• Practical knowledge of above-listed key tasks valued over a formal degree.
• Background in trades.
